In the Beginning...

1999
Bible Study
In 1999 while Randall Cunningham was still a member of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings football team, Randall developed a passion for mentoring his teammates and leading them in Bible studies during the season. Randall’s passion for teaching the Bible carried over to his home life and in 1999 Randall, along with his wife Felicity Cunningham, began to host an intimate bible study for friends and family in their home in Henderson, Nevada.

Studio 7
After hosting this small Bible study over a two-year period, Pastor Randall and Felicity decided to step out in faith and purchase a building in 2001 where they could further pursue their individual passions. This building, which they called Studio 7, was originally intended to serve as both a music recording studio and dance studio. The dance studio served as a venue for Felicity, who was a professional ballerina before marrying Randall, to continue her passion for ministering to others through dance. The dance studio would also function as a venue for their weekly Bible study, which continued to meet every Thursday night until October 2005.

"The Cup-Bearer"
On August 8, 2003 Pastor Randall and Felicity purchased the property located at 325 E. Windmill Lane. Their vision was to establish a large Christian facility where they could host Bible studies, Christian concerts, and Christian drama productions. The property was also intended to function as a kitchen called “The Cup Bearer”, a welcoming destination where people in the community could visit during the week and enjoy some good food, coffee, and fellowship with others.

We're Incorporated
Food and fellowship were an integral part of their ministry during that time. Following Thursday night Bible studies, Randall and Felicity would provide food so that everyone could eat dinner together and fellowship before going home. Sometimes, everyone would go eat at a restaurant or go to the movies together. A lifelong bond began to form between the Cunningham’s and all those involved in the weekly ministry. Pastor Randall also established a men’s accountability meeting through which he began cultivating the future leaders of the church. It was clear that what began as an intimate Bible study for family and friends was becoming much more than that and on December 31, 2003, Remnant Ministries was officially incorporated.

Ordination
The following year on March 28, 2004, Pastor John Michaels from Calvary Chapel Spring Valley ordained Pastor Randall at a special Sunday ordination service. In August, while plans for the Christian performing arts and fellowship facility were well underway, Pastors John Michaels and Sergio De La Mora from Cornerstone Church of San Diego, were compelled to reach out to Pastor Randall and share what God had placed on their hearts concerning Remnant. Both pastors concurred that Pastor Randall should make plans to transition, what was at that time still a Bible study, into a church.

Commissioning
In September of 2004, Cornerstone Church of San Diego held a special commissioning ceremony where they officially commissioned Remnant Ministries to transition from Thursday night Bible studies to Sunday morning church services. On October 2, Remnant Ministries, the Church, held its first Sunday service at Studio 7.

Remnant Ministries, The Church
Remnant Ministries, the church, quickly outgrew the Studio 7 facility so in November of 2004, modifications were made to the original plans for the performing arts center, so it could be converted into a full-fledged church. The dance studio, which was adjacent to the main building, was converted and partitioned into three classrooms for the children’s ministry.

Groundbreaking
The following year in November, with planning approval and financing in place, Remnant Ministries held a ground-breaking ceremony for its church building located at 325 E. Windmill Lane. While construction was underway, Remnant would establish a temporary home in the gymnasium at Silverado High School in Henderson. Services at Silverado High School would continue for eleven months following the commencement of construction on the new building.

First Sunday
On October 8, 2006, Remnant Ministries officially opened its doors and held its First Sunday morning service at the new church building located at 325 E Windmill Lane. God most certainly blessed this inaugural service as all 500 seats were filled and by 2007, a second worship service was required to accommodate a rapidly growing congregation.

Arise & Build

2008
The Vision
In 2008 Pastor Randall and Felicity cast a vision for expanding the church into a facility that would include additional classrooms, offices, large youth meeting rooms, recreation rooms, as well as a basketball court. Even amid a great recession, the congregation endorsed their vision for the future of Remnant Ministries and collectively began giving to the Arise & Build Campaign.

Construction Begins
On January 1st of 2016, Remnant Ministries broke ground on the new parking lot, adjacent to the church’s main building. Two months later construction began on the 25,000 square foot addition to the main building, an addition that included all the elements expressed in the vision cast by Pastor Randall and Felicity for the church’s expansion.
